ABBOTT has announced its innovative diagnostic platform, known as IRIDICA, is now available in Europe and other CE-Mark recognised countries. The new platform can identify more than 1,000 infection-causing pathogens in less than six hours, versus the current standard of care (culture-based testing), which can take days. COVIDIEN has announced CE Mark approval for its Nellcor Bedside SpO2 patient monitoring system, PM100N. Harrogate District Hospital has adopted VERNACARE’s new award-winning VernaFem female urinal. The product was trialled on the hospital’s Nidderdale female general surgery, gynaecology, urology and gastroenterology ward, where it is providing an alternative to catheterisation for postoperative patients.
