SMITHS MEDICAL has launched the new Medfusion 3500 V6 syringe infusion pump with PharmGuard Toolbox 2 medication safety software, to provide highly configurable medication delivery.
The new pump, coupled with the medication safety software, can configure clinical care areas and drug protocols, to enhance patientcentric care strategies and workflow. The improved workflow was developed after extensive testing of the user interface with a range of healthcare professionals, along with input from customers around the world.
The pump can be used with or without a custom drug library. The intelligent Windowsbased PC PharmGuard safety software allows healthcare professionals to develop customised drug libraries according to hospital-defined dosing best practices and download the libraries to Medfusion 3500 V6 syringe pumps. The PharmGuard software’s Dose Error Reduction System (DERS) helps minimise the potential of programming errors – every infusion begins safely because the pump starts within custom maximum and minimum dosing limits. There are 125 delivery mode combinations and an advanced flush feature to help satisfy patient needs.
