3M has added models 3200 and 3100 to its range of Littmann electronic stethoscopes. Benefits include: 24 x sound amplification to assist in hearing faint heart, lung or body sounds; and patented ambient noise reduction technology, which acoustically cancels out an average of 85% of distracting background noise.

Umbilical hernia repair

ETHICON, a division of Johnson & Johnson Medical, has announced the launch of the Proceed Ventral Patch, the latest addition to its family of hernia products. The umbilical hernia repair device is indicated for use in umbilical, epigastric, small ventral and trocar site hernias.

Difficil-S is a new low cost, two-part broad spectrum daily disinfectant. Available from the CK Consumables division of the CK GROUP, Difficil-S achieves a similar high level bacteria kill rate to sodium hypochlorite bleaches (5 log reduction at 10,000 ppm) but without any of the adverse effects of product related fumes and damage to surfaces.
