BD DIAGNOSTICS, a segment of BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), has expanded its product portfolio with the addition of the BD Innova Preanalytical Automated Microbiology Specimen Processor, and the BD Max Automated Molecular Diagnostic System and the BD Max GBS Assay.
The BD Innova product platform was acquired from Dynacon and is designed to help increase laboratory efficiency and automate the modern microbiology laboratory, as well as helping reduce laboratory errors associated with specimen handling. The BD Max System is a fully automated workstation designed to offer ondemand and batch testing to accommodate varying workloads and is designed for maximum lab efficiency and flexibility. It enables users to develop their own fullyautomated assays on the open-architecture system, and is the first in a planned broad menu of infectious disease assays.
