Reducing the risk of surgical site infections - the role of antimicrobial incise drapes
Surgical site infections (SSI’s) are a common complication that burdens the healthcare system, hospitals and patients. These infections can lengthen a patient’s stay, increase costs, and even be fatal. However, around 60% of SSI’s are estimated to be preventable with the use of evidence-based measures.1-3 In this webinar Dr Jon Otter (Dr Jon Otter, Consultant Clinical Scientist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust & Honorary Senior Lecturer in HCAI and AMR at Imperial College London) will discuss the importance of an effective SSI prevention care bundle, the role of an antimicrobial incise drape and the clinical evidence and guidelines to support clinical implementation.
