Imaging solution for cardiac care

Sandwell DGH has installed a new SIEMENS Axiom Artis dTC imaging solution with flat detector technology to serve as a dedicated cardiac system in its recently opened casualty unit. Casualty is in a newly rebuilt wing which replaces part of the hospital building that was destroyed in a fire in 2002.

Sandwell chose the Artis dTC for the added flexibility of its ceiling mounted C-arm and the protection offered to patients through its low radiation dose. “The technical features and the high quality of support from Siemens convinced us that the Axiom Artis dTC was the correct solution for us. It now serves as the backbone of our emergency cardiac services,” said Dr Adam Lovick, consultant physicist at Sandwell Hospital.

Mark Hall, regional sales manager, Siemens Medical Solutions said, “It is an endorsement of our innovative technology and quality of service that Sandwell has chosen the Axiom Artis dTC as a dedicated cardiac solution in its new casualty unit. We are pleased to have developed a strong working relationship with the hospital.”
