As the name suggests, the NICOM is totally non-invasive – taking away any potential patient trauma or infection. The NICOM provides continuous real-time data, enabling rapid set up, immediate treatment and care path decision making. Cerebral injury remains one of the most devastating potential effects of open heart surgery. Nonin has now developed its own cerebral oximetry technology, Equanox, which detects oxygen desaturation in time to prevent or reduce serious injury – offering the clinical team a powerful tool to improve outcomes.
