AfPP backs safety campaign

The Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) has spoken out to show its continued support of “Patient Safety First”, the patient safety improvement campaign for England.

Representing between 30% and 40% of all nurses and 10% of operating department practitioners, the AfPP is encouraging Trusts and individual perioperative staff to show their commitment to patient safety by signing up to the campaign at www.patientsafetyfirst.nhs.uk. So far, 86% of acute Trusts have signed. Diane Gilmour, president of the Association for Perioperative Practice commented: “Patient Safety First can empower each of us to make the small changes that make a big difference.”
