A leader in ultrasound probe high-level disinfection (HLD) technology, Nanosonics, is showcasing its state-of-the-art trophon device at this year's EBME Expo.
Exhibiting at stand K20, visitors will learn about the importance of infection prevention, the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance, and how the trophon® device tackles the latter through interactive demonstrations.
The trophon® device’s vibration technology combined with a nebulised mist mode of action delivers HLD to all probe surfaces, including crevices and imperfections caused by frequent clinical use. The technology uses Hydrogen Peroxide (H202) mist, deadly for pathogens, but safer for patients, equipment and the environment as it transforms into water and oxygen post disinfection. The trophon® device provides effective HLD, while residue from the process is discarded naturally without the additional need for disposal of hazardous substances.
Robust testing showing data that the method is compatible with the probe in use is of utmost importance. To that end, the Nanosonics’ compatibility programme is carried out collaboratively with market-leading probe manufacturers – with now over 1,300 ultrasound probes across 26 manufacturers approved as being compatible for use.
As well as high efficacy rates, the full trophon® solution also includes additional traceability features, optimised, automated workflows, as well as service for checks and annual validation purposes. All of which you can explore for yourself at stand K20.
