Combining hand hygiene and care

A range of hand disinfectant products that emphasise personal skin care benefits as much as anti-infection virtues has been launched by MEDICHEM INTERNATIONAL.

The Nursing Hands range of disinfectants is being brought out just after a recent NHS survey revealed that one in four healthcare workers say that not enough is being done to encourage staff, patients and visitors to clean their hands.

Using a special formula of high-grade biodynamic moisturising enzymes designed to nourish the user’s skin, the range of antibacterial skin cleansing and moisturizing scrubs has been created to provide users with as high a level of moisturising and nourishing skin care as can be found in many expensive leading brands of cosmetic skin care products.

Rick Hayman, managing director of MediChem, said: “It’s all very well for health service bosses to keep reminding hospital workers about the need to regularly disinfect their hands, but after a while the message tends to lose its impact if your hands are dried up and sore after repeatedly using ordinary disinfectant solutions. The Nursing Hands range of hand disinfectants will appeal to nurses’ personal desires to keep their hands looking good.”
