Colour-coded wipes offered

3M has developed a range of Scotch-Brite colourcoded, disposable wipes which can be used in healthcare environments to help reduce the risk of cross-contamination.

The wipes, which comply with the National Colour-Coded System adopted by the NHS, as outlined in the National Cleaning Standards for Hospitals manual, are already in use within several hospitals.

Andy Fernley, product manager for Scotch-Brite Cleaning Products, said: “Cleaners who use the new wipes say that they have been easy to integrate within the colour-coded system. What’s more, the workers find carrying the tubs much easier than having to carry out several types of cloth and bottles of chemicals or sprays.”

Each Scotch-Brite cloth has been impregnated with a pre-dosed amount of chemical. This provides the cleaner with peace of mind that the appropriate amount of chemical is used for a specific task, and obviates over-use and therefore wastage of sprays or liquid chemicals that would be used with traditional cloths or paper towels.
