Improving end-of-life care

A new report from the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) recommends that all hospital doctors, not just palliative care doctors and geriatricians, must be supported to improve the care they give to patients at the end of their lives.

Improving end-of-life care: professional development for physicians, provides practical toolkits for physicians and recommendations for Trusts to improve end-of-life care. The report recommends that all physicians promptly discuss options for end-of-life care, which gives patients and their carers time to make choices.
