Nihon Kohden, a Japanese medical electronics company renowned for its innovation, reliability and engineering quality, opened a UK subsidiary, NIHON KOHDEN UK, in 2010, to better serve its UK customers and partners.

In 1974, pulse oximetry, the technology to non-invasively measure oxygen in the blood, was invented by Dr Takuo Aoyagi, a Nihon Kohden scientist. Today, the company’s product range focuses on patient monitoring, cardiology and neurology solutions. Its corporate philosophy is ‘fighting disease with electronics.’
