Therapeutic lighting system for Park Hospital

The major focus of an £8 million investment in facilities at The Park Hospital in Nottingham is the refurbishment of three existing theatres and endoscopy units plus the installation of a fully integrated theatre which includes a state-of-the-art critical care unit, which incorporates an AmbientLine therapeutic lighting system from TRUMPF MEDICAL SYSTEMS.

AmbientLine is designed to work with the natural cycle of day and night, creating an environment that increases the wellbeing of patients and staff with its individual colour settings. Simon Hardwick, theatre manager, explains the reasons behind the specification of this lighting solution: “Lighting is a very important issue. The most important criteria was functionality and ease of use and this is where the TRUMPF iLED system scored best. “What appealed to the surgeons was how the AmbientLine light could be adapted to individual needs, such as changing colour temperature and the way the light could be set to avoid shadows.”
