Celebrating healthcare innovation

The Medilink Yorkshire and Humber Innovation Day 2006 is a celebration of good ideas, giving attendees the chance to hear about some of the most innovative and fresh developments in the healthcare industry, and an opportunity to be updated on key healthcare sector issues. The event will be held on the 28 March at Headingley Experience, Leeds.

This year Sue Wilkin, of the NHS Centre for Evidence-based Purchasing, will speak on the NHS PASA Centre for Evidence-Based Purchasing. Created on 1 September 2005, this centre underpins purchasing decisions by providing objective evidence to support the uptake of useful, safe, innovative products and related procedures in health and social care.

In addition, Paul Trueman of York Health Economics Consortium (YHEC) will summarise the recent changes in NHS funding, focussing in particular on the implementation of Payment by Results (PbR).

Visitors will also be able to attend this year’s Medilink Y&H Healthcare Business Awards, which will see awards presented to the regions’ outstanding healthcare technology companies.
