NICE to update clinical guidelines for MS

Following a great deal of lobbying from the MS Society, the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) has agreed to consult on a proposed update of the clinical guidelines for the treatment of people with MS.

The current treatment guidelines for MS are seven years old, and have not been updated, despite dramatic changes in services and treatments for people with MS. As part of the consultation, if NICE receives sufficient evidence from professional organisations that the guideline should be updated, then it will officially commit to the task.
