NICE has launched a training package to support and reinforce the skills and competencies of midwives, health visitors and social workers when raising sensitive issues with pregnant women who face difficult social circumstances.
The pack consists of a training plan, powerpoint slides, and video clips which can be used by the trainer to plan their sessions. The tools can be used to deliver training sessions which are complementary to mandatory training to help staff increase their confidence and reinforce the communication skills they need to provide good quality care for vulnerable women.
