RCP president accepts role at BSG

The British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) has announced the appointment of Professor Ian Gilmore as President Elect for the next two years before becoming President from 2012 to 2014.

Currently president of the Royal College of Physicians of London, Prof. Gilmore chaired a Royal College of Physicians working party that produced the report “Alcohol – can the NHS afford it?”. Since his election as president of the College in 2006, he has become a leading authority on alcohol misuse in the UK. He also initiated the Alcohol Health Alliance UK in 2007.
