STERIS has launched the BioGienie, an innovative hydrogen peroxide disinfectant delivery system specifically designed to provide safe and effective biodecontamination in the clinical setting.
This compact, manoeuvrable system complements the existing range of Steris advanced vaporised hydrogen peroxide (VHP) solutions, offering rapid and simple reduction of pathogens such as MRSA, C. difficile, E. coli, and norovirus, to create a safer environment for patients and healthcare professionals. The BioGienie system uses Hyproxil Active disinfectant cartridges – combining just 6% hydrogen peroxide with colloidal silver – to offer a high level of bioprotection. The cartridge-based system uses onboard liquid and pressure sensors to ensure reliable operation – with automated shutdown in the unlikely event of a leak – and further enhances operator safety by eliminating direct contact with the disinfectant.
