Alliance upgrades scanners

Alliance Medical has completed the state-of-the-art upgrade of four of their mobile MRI units, which means they now have the largest number of HDXt scanners in the UK. The upgrades have been completed in partnership with GE Healthcare and AK Smit, the first time that GE Healthcare has completed upgrades to the latest HDXt level on mobile scanners outside of the US.

Alliance Medical’s investment of over £1 million brings their total number of HDXt scanners to eight, further extending their mobile capability in response to the growing demand for the very latest diagnostic equipment from its extensive customer base.

Two of the scanners have been optimized for high end use in cardiac and ireast imaging, using the latest advanced pulse sequences and coils. Additional sequences include the 3D high resolution “Cube” volume imaging and “Ideal” which offers multiple contrasts in a single acquisition with superb fat saturation. These new sequences open up greater imaging opportunities with enhanced outcomes for patients and better utilisation of scan appointment slots.
