The Skills Academy Core Learning Unit is part of SKILLS FOR HEALTH, the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for the UK health sector.
The unit is one of three nationally recognised e-learning providers to the NHS and is an ethically focused organisation supported, commissioned and funded by the 10 Strategic Health Authorities in England and the Department of Health. At present, the unit can boast registered e-learner numbers in excess of 135,000. This success, since the commissioning of the unit in 2005, is due namely to the quality and integrity of the training programmes provided. One of the most widely implemented of the unit’s programmes is the National Infection Control Online Training Programme.
