B. Braun Medical has introduced its new IV Forum Antimicrobial Stewardship Series, launching during World Antimicrobial Awareness Week.
The first webinar, on the 19th November, is titled: "Understanding the SNAP Trial and the management of Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia". In collaboration with Aesculap Academy, this insightful session is designed exclusively for healthcare professionals, exploring the latest evidence, insights, and strategies in managing Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia.
The SNAP Trial utilised a Bayesian adaptive platform design to evaluate multiple treatment strategies for Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia across diverse global sites. It compared antibiotics such as cefazolin, flucloxacillin, and penicillin, and assessed adjunctive therapies and early oral switch options.
The webinar in collaboration with B. Braun Medical, will address challenges in implementing adaptive trials, including regulatory complexity and global coordination, and highlight opportunities for improving treatment equity, reducing toxicity, and enhancing sustainability in antibiotic use.
The session will illustrate how SNAP findings can inform local protocols, reduce unnecessary IV therapy, and support stewardship goals. Attendees will gain practical insights into translating trial evidence into everyday clinical decision-making.
