European launch of innovative gastroscope

FUJIFILM Healthcare Europe has announced the European launch of the EG-860R routine gastroscope as the latest addition to the ELUXEO endoscopy portfolio.

Equipped with an auxiliary water jet function, increased down angulation and FUJIFILM’s state-of-the-art high-resolution megapixel CMOS sensor, the new 800 series routine gastroscope is designed to support endoscopists with high-definition, low noise imaging, and improved accessibility. Compatible with FUJIFILM’s new EP-8000 ELUXEO high-performance video processor, this is the fifth in an entire series of new and upcoming innovations to be released under the ‘Welcome, Future’ initiative.

The FUJIFILM Healthcare Team has developed a series of new technologies designed to transform the endoscopy journey, from screening to treatment, and will be revealing these in stages across the next 2 years.Join the ‘Welcome, Future’ mailing list to stay updated on new releases: HERE

Compatible with FUJIFILM’s ELUXEO 8000, the EG-860R includes a state-of-the-art, light-sensitive megapixel CMOS sensor for high-definition image quality, supporting endoscopists with low-noise imaging, designed to increase imaging clarity. With special light observation modes such as Linked Colour Imaging (LCI), Blue Light Imaging (BLI) and Amber-red Colour Imaging (ACI), FUJIFILM’s new endoscopy solutions are designed to support the diagnosis and treatment of the upper gastrointestinal tract.

The new endoscopes are engineered to improve manoeuvrability, supporting easier observation and approachability of difficult to reach lesions. By increasing the downward angulation to 120o (from 90o on previous models) while maintaining an upwards-angulation of 210°, the new ELUXEO EG-860R gastroscope is expected to improve access to previously inaccessible areas.

Designed to support upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, FUJIFILM’s EG-860R routine gastroscope has been engineered to provide greater clarity in the observation of the oesophagus, stomach, and duodenum.

In addition, to improve operability during procedures, the new ELUXEO 800 series gastroscopes include Fujifilm’s proprietary Adaptive Bending technology, providing an improved elasticity of the insertion tube. Additionally, these endoscopes incorporate Advanced Force Transmission technology, which is based on gradual stiffness, a feature that was previously only found in colonoscopes. This is designed to easily transmit push-pull and rotation movements from the endoscopist's hand to the distal end of the endoscope, reducing the torque load when performing rotary operations.

The EG-860R gastroscope is carefully engineered to work in harmony with the endoscopist, responding accurately to the physician’s movements during procedures. The improved insertion section is engineered to improve responsiveness and control, with a balance of flexibility and resistance, easily transmitting the endoscopist’s movements to the gastroscope tip for seamless operability.
