Erbe Medical has announced the introduction of TriSect rapide® – the latest advanced energy device that sets a new standard in speed, precision, and thermal safety.
Developed for use with the VIO® 3 electrosurgical range, TriSect rapide® enables fast, controlled dissection while protecting surrounding structures through its unique thermal profile.
What makes TriSect rapide unique is its ability to grasp, dissect, and seal tissue bundles and vessels in a single step, reducing the need to switch between instruments. This streamlines the surgical process and helps teams work more efficiently in the OR.
Minimal thermal spread for maximum precision
TriSect rapide allows precise preparation in the immediate vicinity of adjacent and critical structures thanks to low lateral thermal spread - less than 1 mm. With temperatures below 100°C at the back of the jaws and cooling rapidly to as low as 60°C after activation, TriSect rapide significantly reduces latent heat exposure compared to conventional technologies.
This temperature control is especially valuable in areas with delicate anatomy such as the bowel, ureter, or vessels, where precision is crucial and collateral thermal injury must be minimised. A short activation time further reduces thermal impact, allowing for safer dissection even in tightly confined spaces.
ThermoSECT and softCOAG®: Modes built for performance
Paired with the VIO® 3 electrosurgical range, TriSect rapide uses advanced modes like thermoSECT, which mimics the motion and precision of scissors while ensuring haemostasis, and softCOAG®, which pre-coagulates thicker tissue and controls diffuse bleeding efficiently.
