The Dopplex intraoperative probe is designed to assess the patency of a vessel during surgery, allowing surgeons to ensure vascular flow before closing.
The probe is supplied pre-sterilised so it can be used straight from the pack, and its 3m cable means you can keep your Doppler safely outside your sterile field.
Designed to provide accurate and reliable information to surgeons, the single use design ensures maximum probe sensitivity with every use, avoiding the wear and tear that comes with resterilisation, and the difficulties this can cause in theatre. As Professor Usman Jaffer, Honorary Consultant Vascular surgeon at Imperial College London, notes “Poor care costs a lot more than good care. So I think the importance is to be able to deliver good care as many times as possible, first time.”
The probe also gives surgeons access to the power of Dopplex handheld Dopplers, with the latest Dopplex DMX model able to visualise pulse waveforms to provide extra diagnostic information. Waveforms can also be saved and exported to be included in the patient record.
“We wanted to empower clinicians to be able to provide continuity of care,” explains Gavin Dummett, Huntleigh’s Senior Global Vascular Product Category Manager. “The Dopplex system can be used for pre-, peri- and post-operative assessments simply by changing the probe being used. Both clinicians and patients then benefit from being able to accurately track outcomes with consistency.”
