Birmingham Community NHS Foundation Trust enhances medical asset tracking

Idox has announced that Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust (BCHC) has selected its iAssets solution to track over 200 BodyGuard T lockboxes, used in community care within the Birmingham Area. This collaboration aims to improve the management and reduce the re-procurement of syringe pumps across BCHC services.

Key Benefits of the iAsset Solution include:

  • Real-Time Tracking: Utilising GPS technology, iAsset provides comprehensive visibility of BodyGuard T lockboxes, ensuring they are easily located whether in the hospital, care home, or out in the community within a patient’s home.
  • Enhanced Patient Safety: By accurately tracking syringe pumps, BCHC can ensure timely maintenance and servicing, aligning with MHRA standards and improving patient care outcomes.
  • Operational Efficiency: The tracking solution reduces time spent searching for syringe pumps, allowing clinical staff to focus more on patient care and less on administrative tasks.
  • Cost Savings: Minimising losses and optimising syringe pump utilisation contribute to significant cost reductions, benefiting both the Trust and taxpayers.

Idox’s iAssets solution has been successfully deployed across numerous NHS Trusts, including Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where it has improved asset tracking and maintenance processes.

“We are delighted to partner with Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust to enhance the management of medical assets across their services,“ said Steven Bruce, Divisional Director at Idox. “Our iAssets tracking solution is designed to provide real-time visibility and improve operational efficiency, ultimately supporting better patient care outcomes.”

“The implementation of the iAsset solution is a significant step forward in our commitment to providing high-quality care,” said The Medical Device Team at Birmingham Community Trust. “This partnership with Idox will streamline our asset management processes, ensuring that our medical equipment is always available and in optimal condition when needed.”
