EBME Expo 2024 - Exclusive interview with Idox: Could asset tracking help the NHS?

EBME Expo recently explored the challenges around medical technology management and high on the agenda was the need to improve asset tracking of valuable MedTech assets – particularly in view of care in the community and the expansion of the virtual ward. The Clinical Services Journal invited comment from top experts at EBME Expo 2024, and Esther Coleman, Senior Product Manager, at Idox, highlighted the potential for tracking software, both within the hospital setting and out in the community, to address some of the NHS’s key challenges.

Esther discusses how the latest technology can:

  • Save clinical time by enabling staff to quickly locate medical technologies (such as syringe drivers and ventilators).
  • Reduce costs through effective inventory management and re-procurement savings.
  • Improve maintenance, uptime and availability for vital medical technologies.
  • Implement ‘geofencing’ in healthcare settings using GPS.
