Exclusive interview with EBME Chair: calls to increase investment in clinical engineering

The Clinical Services Journal recently interviewed top experts at EBME Expo 2024, to gain their insights into the challenges, opportunities and innovation in clinical engineering – from cyber security threats and challenges around connectivity, to staff shortages and sustainability.

In this exclusive interview, EBME Chairman, Dr. John Sandham points out that one of the key challenges around the adoption of medical technologies is the current level of funding, with only 3.9% of NHS spend currently invested in technology. He calls for increased investment and explains why this is critical to the future of the NHS and to improve outcomes for patients.
