UK HealthTech pioneers reunite at Arab Health

The UK Pavilion is heading back to Arab Health in January 2022. This month, CSJ spoke to ABHI’s managing director, International, Paul Benton, about the array of technologies, services and surgical simulations being showcased on the ABHI UK Pavilion.

The show – one of the world’s leading platforms for international trade in the healthcare sector – represents a huge opportunity for UK healthcare manufacturers and providers to showcase the very best of talent and innovation to a global audience.

Technology and innovation are set to take centre stage at this year’s Arab Health, where the global healthcare industry is set to unite again from 24-27 January 2022 under the theme ‘United by business, forging ahead’. Established 46 years ago, the event has long provided an important platform for leading UK companies across the health technology sector to connect with the medical and scientific community in the Middle East and showcase how their innovations can help to tackle some of the big challenges in modern healthcare.

Ageing populations, higher life expectancy, in addition to an increase in obesity, cancer and diabetes, continue to have significant implications for health systems globally. In the Middle East and North Africa region, non-communicable diseases such as heart disease (up by 44%), stroke (up 35%), and diabetes (up 87%) are causing more premature death and disability than they did in the past.1
