Webinar: impact of falls among the elderly population

Following the success of Medstrom’s recent webinars in 2021, the company is continuing its series with thought-provoking discussion and the exchange of evidence-based research on topical issues in healthcare.

The latest webinar will examine the 'impact of falls among the elderly population’ and will focus on risk reduction and falls injury mitigation. The webinar is taking place on 29 September 2021, 14:00-15:15 BST and is ideal for multidisciplinary teams caring for elderly patients.

Guest speakers will include:

  • Dr. Prasanna de Silva, a psychiatrist with an interest in patients with dementia and delirium. He will focus on risk reduction for this high-risk group.
  • Ed Tank focuses on collaboration and the remarkable effects that joint working between the community and acute sectors can achieve for patients, patient maximisation through exercise and an evidence-based approach to intervention.
  • Dr. Denise Shanahan, a consultant nurse with experience of preparing reports and giving evidence at coroner’s court. Denise will demonstrate the “human” cost of falls through example case studies.

Questions can be raised in the remaining part of the webinar with all guest speakers. Register here for the event.
