DR. WEIGERT is a well-known and established manufacturer in Europe, producing a range of specialised detergents and disinfectants sold under the trade name of neodisher. Based in Hamburg the company supplies hospitals and clinics throughout Europe via its own subsidiaries and a network of specialist distributors and agents. In the UK, the company currently works with Dawmed, SIC, Vernon Carus and Medicell. It is keen to build on this platform and work with other distributors operating in specialised areas.
The company has a new detergent called neodisher SeptoClean that has proved to be very successful at removing Prion proteins and also inactivating Prion proteins from stainless steels. A presentation by the company’s Dr. Staffeldt will detail the results. Extensive testing has been undertaken at the company’s laboratories in Hamburg, while independent tests have been carried out by the Robert Koch Institute and SMP GmbH.
