Trust cuts cardiac waiting lists

The Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust has purchased the C-cam (Cardiac Gamma Camera) for its eight different sites across north London and Hertfordshire to help reduce waiting lists by doubling the number of patients studied in a single day.

The new equipment is expected to speed up patient throughput and once fully operational, the camera will be able to carry out studies on 12 patients per day, compared to 6 patients before. The C.cam will enable the Royal Free to carry out Gated SPECT radioventriculograms for the first time.
