Getinge launches S-8668T Washer-Disinfector

Getinge is today announcing the launch of the new S-8668T model in the 86-series Washer-Disinfectors which has been developed to increase reprocessing throughput within the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD). With the turbo multitasking technology available for the S-8668T model, processing time can be cut by up to 25% and thereby reduce overall utility consumption.

The 86-series now includes three models (S-8666, S-8668, and S-8668T) and has been developed to increase efficiency within the Central Sterile Supply Departments (CSSDs). With the S-8668T version the CSSD can process more instruments in less time thanks to the turbo (multitasking) functionality. The turbo processing reduces the non-productive time needed for filling and draining
of process water, and cuts process time by up to 25%. Most impressing is that it has been
achieved with the same footprint as the current 86-series model, thus 160mm or 13% smaller than
the previous 88-Turbo.The S-8668 and S-8668T models also provide the possibility to process
EndoWrist® Instruments (instruments used for laparoscopic procedures) with Getinge’s da Vinci
Solution.

“With the new S-8668T Washer-Disinfector, Getinge takes on the challenge to improve more
efficient throughput for our customers”, says Marcus Samuelsson, Business Development Manager Cleaning & Disinfection at Getinge. “Not only can it save time and resources for our customers, but it also provides safe ergonomic advantages by, for example, the automatic distribution of detergents which reduces the need of lifting heavy containers and avoids spillage”.

Additional features for the full 86-series includes an integrated solution, using the same modern
and intuitive user-interfaced called Centric. The series also uses an automatic loading and
unloading system called Getinge Air Glide System, which reads the information stored in a barcodeon the wash cart, and automatically starts the correct wash program.
