MEDISAFE WINS QUEEN’S AWARD FOR ENTERPRISE UK-based Manufacturer Recognised for Infection Prevention Product Innovation

Bishop's Stortford, UK -- Medisafe UK Ltd. today announced that the business has received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation. This is the second Queen’s Award received by the company, with the maker of infection prevention washing-disinfecting systems and related consumables being recognised in 2015 with an International Trade Award.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious awards for UK businesses, designed to recognise and encourage outstanding achievements in the fields of Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity (through social mobility). The Queen’s Awards scheme was instituted by Royal Warrant in 1965 and the first Awards were made in 1966.

Medisafe was recognised for the Distal Duck Tip Soaker, a unique patented product that aids in the cleaning process of instruments by keeping soiled or used complex and robotic surgical instrument tips moist from use in the operating room until they are cleaned in the central sterile services department (CSSD).

Oliver Bullett, Senior Operations Manager, Medisafe, said “We are honoured to receive our second Queen’s Award, and to be recognised in the Innovation category. We pride ourselves in creating concepts and products that keep us at the forefront of ever-changing technical advances, and for providing an exceptional standard of patient safety and care. This is testament to the ideas, skills and hard work of our team who are at the core of our business and its success.”

Medisafe Holdings Ltd. is a subsidiary of STERIS, a provider of infection prevention and procedural products and services, focused primarily on healthcare, pharmaceutical and research and medical device customers.

Andy Sutcliffe, Senior Marketing Director for STERIS, commented “We are delighted that the hard work, dedication and commitment of the entire team working at Medisafe has been recognised in winning this prestigious award. Our mission is to help our Customers create a healthier and safer world. The technological innovation delivered by the Medisafe team in this unique product segment demonstrates why STERIS and Medisafe are respected leaders in infection prevention, sterilization and decontamination solutions that meet the needs of healthcare providers.”
