Powered patient transport stretcher

STRYKER will preview a new addition to its M-Series stretcher range at the exhibition. The SM304 stretcher, powered by Stryker’s “Zoom” technology, virtually eliminates the effort in pushing and turning.

There can be significant manual handling risks associated with patient transports, particularly if there are slopes or large or heavy patients involved. The M-Series range already offers the Lift Assist backrest and Big Wheel steering, both of which dramatically reduce the physical effort involved. The Zoom power of the SM304 brings the added dimension of powered transport, helping reduce the number of staff needed and the risk of injury. The M-Series stretchers offer a massive 700lb capacity, with an optional extra wide 30” patient surface.

“Stryker’s ethos has always been to ensure not only the safety and comfort of patients, but to deliver proven ergonomic design to reduce the associated effort and manual handling risk for the healthcare professional. At Stryker, we call this “BackSmart”. The SM304 stretcher is the next step in the evolution of this kind of equipment,” said Helen Clark, marketing manager for patient handling.
