AfPP publishes new guidance

The Association for Perioperative Practice has launched two new publications:

Respecting cultural diversity in the perioperative setting and Local anaesthesia and sedation: managing the risk. Respecting cultural diversity in the perioperative setting contains issues with specific cultural considerations such as handling blood products, organ donation and transplant, termination of pregnancy, disposal of body parts and principles to observe in the event of a perioperative death. Local anaesthesia and sedation: managing the risk provides instruction on best practice. Written in conjunction with the British Association of Day Surgery, the publication is a valuable tool for safe and competent risk management in the areas of anaesthesia and sedation.

Both publications are available via the AfPP website at www.afpp.org.uk or by calling 01423 508079.
