Difficil-S®: for infection prevention and control

Established in 2005, Clinimax is a British company dedicated to tackling the HCAI threat, by developing and manufacturing advanced infection prevention and control products.

Difficil-S®, produced by Clinimax, is a highly effective product and has advanced antimicrobial properties. It has been designed to suit a wide variety of disinfection needs.
As a preventative measure and also in the event of an HCAI ward infection, staff can use Difficil-S® as the first line of defence against micro-organisms associated with HCAIs throughout hospitals and care homes.

Why choose Difficil-S®?

Efficient and long lasting: Difficil-S® combines ease of use with long lasting results. Within just five minutes of application Difficil-S®, a supremely powerful and broad spectrum sporicidal disinfectant cleaner achieves up to an outstanding 5-log reduction (up to 99.999%) in pathogens. Acting within 5 minutes against:

  • Clostridium difficile (incl. spores)
  • Norovirus
  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa
  • Listeria
  • MRSA
  • Escherichia coli
  • Mycobacteria
  • Salmonella
  • Poliovirus
  • Adenovirus

Simple to use: Supplied in sachets with a 30-month shelf life, just mix with cold water to activate the contents. Difficil-S® can be applied to a low linting cloth or used with mops or wall washers and can be used on table tops, walls, floors and body fluid spills and non-invasive medical devices where organic soiling is present.

Non-corrosive: Chlorine dioxide (CI02) the active ingredient, is a powerful compound that has been used for many years in food processing, oral hygiene and to disinfect drinking water. Despite its strength, extensive testing has shown that CI02 is non-corrosive on virtually any material, so can be used with confidence throughout hospitals and care homes.

Independently tested: Difficil- S® delivers proven results by combining the latest scientific developments with user-friendly application. Tests show that Difficil-S® is highly compatible with most surfaces, including mattresses and metal fittings, destroying micro-organisms and not surfaces.

Success stories

Twelve months after introducing the 275ppm chlorine dioxide product the hospital costed the potential savings due to the reduction in HA-MRSA infections. It estimated a potential cost saving of around £276,000. From an Area General Hospital.

“We feel very confident in supplying Difficil-S® to our customers: effective, non-corrosive and simple to use, Difficil-S® is exactly what care and nursing homes need to help them win the battle against dangerous pathogens, and maintain the best environment for vulnerable patients.” Director of Zenith Hygiene Group
