3M has added four lines of safety spectacles to its range of protective eyewear. The new spectacles are suitable for protection against hazards prevalent in hospitals, laboratories and dental applications.
Adele Wills, marketing executive for 3M’s Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Division, commented: “There are a number of occupational hazards in medical and laboratory environments that pose a risk of eye injury to employees and visitors such as dust ingress or exposure to infectious agents or light radiation. As well as being highly protective, our new products focus on style and comfort. This helps to increase wearer acceptance which is the mainstay of wearing eye protection.”
The new models include the 2810 Super Light Spectacle, weighing 21 g and available with clear lenses and green arms to coordinate with medical colours. The 2800 Comfort Over Spectacle incorporates soft, low profile features for minimum interaction with prescription glasses and adjustable arm length to suit different shaped and sized heads.
This product is also available with clear and IR Shade 5 polycarbonate lenses to protect against infrared radiation, and is suitable for a range of applications. The 2840 Comfort Style Spectacle is lightweight with an integrated brow guard and soft inner padded arms for improved fit and protection. With a range of polycarbonate lens options, including red/orange that filters blue light, this product is particularly suitable for dental industries or other curing applications.
