Insight into discharge issues

Medical publisher M&K has released a book, Nurse Facilitated Hospital Discharge, that will appeal to health professionals working in general, mental health, primary and social care.

The 260-page book has been written for clinical practitioners and aims to provide an insight into complex issues in hospitals underpinning facilitated discharges from hospital settings. Compiled and edited by Liz Lees, consultant nurse, emergency medicine, Heart of England NHS Trust, the contributors included are from education, senior management, pharmacy, medicine, allied health professionals and a variety of senior nursing roles.

Some of the areas the book covers include exploring nurse-facilitated discharge from hospital, developing nurse-facilitated discharge policy and its interface with healthcare practice, competency and role development, maintaining strategic organisational momentum through senior nursing input, and nurse-facilitated discharge from clinical decisions units.
