Disposable curtains assist infection control

A new disposable curtain system has been designed to help control infection by making it economical and easy to change patient bed curtains as often as bed linen.

Manufactured from a treated polypropylene disposable (and recyclable) fabric, the MARLUXdisposable curtain system will not rip or support bacterial growth.

The curtains comply with the same fire-retardant standards as conventional curtains.

Marlux curtains are available in a range of colours and are opaque, which ensures patient privacy. Each curtain comes in a protective sleeve with pre-fitted hooks for a quick and hygienic installation. The sleeve is removed only when the curtain is in position. In most cases existing tracks can be adapted or purpose-built tracks can be installed.

Specially designed labelling provides the facility to audit the curtain change frequency and each curtain can be taken down and refitted in two to three minutes per bed space. Pre-pleated, the curtains appear fresh, clean and modern and neatly stow to give the occupant more light and the staff a clearer view of the patient. With no laundry costs, and a quick and easy installation process, Marlux curtains offer an economical and hygienic solution to bed curtains.
