The Department of Health has announced the publication of the Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 01-01: management and decontamination of surgical instruments (medical devices) used in acute care, which supersedes the Choice Framework for local Policy and Procedures (CFPP) series.
The CFPP series of documents are reverting to the HTMtitle format to realign them with HTM 00 – ‘Policies and principles of healthcare engineering’ and ‘HTM 01-05:
Decontamination in primary care dental practices’ and the naming convention used for other technical guidance documents within England. It will also help to address the recommendation to align decontamination guidance across the four nations.
