Endoscope decontamination units in the UK are benefiting from a quicker, easier and fully-automated audit technology. Developed for WASSENBURG machines in partnership with quality audit trail experts Health Edge Solutions, the system removes the need for repeat scanning of devices, keeps track of scopes throughout the decontamination, drying, storage and patient procedure process and enables managers to collate, publish and archive CFPP 01-06 compliant data.
After software engineers from both companies forged the link between Process Manager, Wassenburg’s proprietary software, and the Health Edge Scope Application (HESA), the system went through a successful beta-testing programme at London Bridge Hospital. Once fully proven it was taken up by Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust for its state-of-the-art unit in its iconic and award-winning Hanover Diagnostic and Treatment Centre. The most recent NHS Trust to install the system is Airedale NHS Foundation Trust in Yorkshire.
