The CFPP 01:01 states that care should be taken to ensure that all parts or surfaces of a surgical instrument are constantly exposed to the moist environment.
To follow this guidance RUHOF has developed Prepclean ‘Forever Wet’ humectant spray. Prepclean’s humectant properties form a coating over the instrument that stays moist for up to 72 hours, or longer when placed in an airtight bag. The nonenzymatic, non-aerosol pre-cleaning spray is said to help prevent bio-burden from drying on the surface of instruments and scopes by keeping them moist for a prolonged period of time, making it suitable for applications where soiled instruments need to be transported and may sit for an extended period of time.
