CAREFUSION has introduced the next generation of its pre-operative surgical clippers. Developed in conjunction with surgical theatre teams, it offers an improved ergonomic feel and performance to encourage proper hand position and application. It can be used in wet or dry conditions.
The surgical clippers are 100% waterproof with a fully submersible handle making them easy to clean. Prominent battery life and charging indicators are featured, along with a longer life battery. The balanced design of the clippers helps to promote their correct use and appropriate blade angle on the patient’s skin, easing the removal of hair in a single pass, limiting the potential for skin irritation.
NICE has recognised that, where hair needs to be removed for clinical or practical
reasons, a single patient use clipper blade, rather than a razor should be used.
All CareFusion surgical clippers have three different, interchangeable single-use blades to help prevent cross-contamination and provide the right blade for various types of procedures – a general use blade for most clinical hair removal; the specially designed Neuro blade for thick hair on the scalp; and the SensiClip blade, which moves the blade away from the patient’s skin to avoid compromising sensitive or loose skin.
