Extension of Instrument Repair and Refurbishment Facility

Surgical Holdings have increased their premises by a further 3000 square foot, which will be solely designated for the expansion of their rapidly growing repairs and refurbishment service department.

Utilising their position as highly skilled British manufacturers of surgical instruments, with around 80 years of family surgical instrument manufacturing history, they offer a 'niche, high quality' repair service that focuses on value and long term cost benefit for the hospitals and most importantly patients.

The service offered aims to flex hospitals budgets by refurbishing current equipment and to give an alternative option to purchasing new instruments. They refurbish surgical instruments, laparoscopic instruments, bipolar and diathermy electrosurgery instruments, micro and ophthalmic titanium instruments, rigid scopes, light leads and air tools, which can save as much as 90% of cost against purchasing new products.

Part of the expansion of the business is to further develop surgical instrument makers of the next generation. The repairs are an excellent opportunity for their Apprentices, working alongside the skilled technicians to learn different challenging aspects of repairing in the region of 5000+ different surgical instruments, as they pass this historic British traditional craft industry to the next generation.
