Vital testing conducted

Hospital Trusts are now concentrating on validating their disinfection and sterilisation services, and SMTL is helping Trusts all over the UK by providing endotoxin and bioburden testing of instruments for HSDU, and final rinse water testing for HSDU and endoscopy clinics. SMTL is also providing environmental monitoring services for HSDU departments to help them monitor the cleanliness of their facilities.

In the next few months, SMTL will be starting to offer a viral barrier testing service to the medical device industry. The test method, based on a bacterial barrier method developed by SMTL in recent years, assesses the barrier properties of medical devices, gloves, dressings etc) relating to viruses and bacteria.
