Since initial installation in Darent Valley Hospital, Kent, ECOLAB’s SolidSafe System has shown significant operational improvements in a number of key areas of its sterile services department.
Providing the cleaning power of 80 L of a liquid concentrate from a single 4 kg capsule of MetalClean solid detergent, Darent Valley’s annual product usage is down 96% from 192 x 10 L barrels of liquid to just 24 x 4 kg capsules of MetalClean. Apart from the health and safety benefits resulting from reduced handling (down 87%), the hospital has also seen a reduction in packaging waste disposal costs (98%) without any compromise in cleaning efficacy.
