The technology has become an important tool in reducing rates of healthcare-associated infection, targeting and eliminating threats from organisms which may be present in the patient’s environment. Bioquell’s HPV systems have been proven to be effective against a wide range of micro-organism’s including bacterial spores, mycobacteria , vegetative bacteria (Gram -ve, Gram +ve), viruses and fungi. Used to combat HCAIs since 2003, the company’s technology has been awarded the Department of Health Rapid Review Panel’s (RRP) recommendation level 1. Following this, a five month evaluation was undertaken by the Showcase Hospital Programme (SHP), concluding that 99% of NHS professionals would recommend the technology.
