As a global player, providing solutions for sterile reprocessing, Getinge is an expert in the field of infection control. Thanks to its comprehensive range of products for cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation the company offers tailored solutions for specific needs within the CSSD.

Infections acquired in a healthcare setting are the most frequent adverse event in healthcare delivery, leading to significant mortality and financial losses for health systems. At any given time, seven of every 100 hospitalised patients (in developed countries)* will be affected with at least one Hospital Acquired Infection (HAI).

Getinge 86-Series Getinge 86-Series is a washer-disinfector specifically designed to meet the challenges faced by CSSDs, TSSUs and clinics worldwide. The new S-8668T version has even higher throughput thanks to the turbo (multitasking) functionality. Turbo processing is said to reduce the non-productive time needed for filling and draining of process water, and cut process time by up to 25% compared to the other two models. The variety of available programmes, time saving features and integrated process monitoring functions are designed to ensure good cleaning outcomes, while maximising throughput and efficiency. The centric user-interface ensures all relevant information is shown on large, high-res screens so the progress status can be monitored from a distance.

The Getinge 86-series washer-disinfector uses the most efficient methods for water heating and air drying. The smart technology is said to ensure that drying stops when a set level of internal humidity is reached when running with a partial load (optional) and the high-capacity washer-disinfector makes more efficient use of floor space in the sterilisation department, while the optimised efficiency pre-programmed cycles ensure maximum efficiency without any wasted time or resources.

Key Features: Optimised chamber design

The design maximises load capacity per cycle while reducing floor space requirements. Highly-flexible load configurations accommodate the placement of tall containers and mixed-sized packaging. A vertical door requires less floor space than horizontal sliding doors, minimising the unit’s footprint.

Hygienic, easy-to-clean design

High-quality polished stainless steel surfaces feature smooth, rounded corners. The flushed chamber door and few seams help to facilitate fast and effective cleaning.

Highly intuitive user interface

The 86-series washer-disinfectors feature an innovative, user-friendly interface display. The intuitive design requires less training, and can be easily operated by staff at all experience levels. Large seven-inch highresolution screens are easy-to-read and monitor, even at a distance. These screens display the most critical process information clearly and logically, including remaining cycle time and start-up selections.

Access data on-demand

Getinge Online is a personal customer web portal that delivers on-demand access to equipment data from your computer or smartphone. This highly secure and encrypted online tool provides real-time and historical performance data, spare parts ordering information, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting regimens.

Capture and store real-time cycle data

The 86-series washer-disinfectors integrate with T-DOC, Getinge’s sterile supply management solution, by capturing and storing real-time cycle data. This is a valuable source of information for CSSD managers and hospital administrators to help quickly remediate any problems, improve production planning, and verify compliance.

Getinge da Vinci solution

Getinge 86-series Washer-Disinfectors allow users to reprocess EndoWrist Instruments and most other kinds of surgical instruments in the same washer-disinfector. The Getinge da Vinci Solution consists of four cornerstones: washer-disinfectors, specific detergent, a customised da Vinci Program and smart wash-racks. When used together, these four cornerstones comprise a tested and verified solution, approved by Intuitive Surgical to be used as a part of the reprocessing instructions of EndoWrist Instruments.

T-DOC

T-DOC is the top-of-the-line sterile supply management and traceability solution that brings complete overview and integration to the instrument supply chain for the highest standards of safety and utilisation, enabling the best possible care for patients.

T-DOC ensures consistent quality outcomes and compliance by providing complete overview and traceability of all patient-to-instrument interactions as well as detailed, continuous information regarding the sterile supply workflow to support better planning and utilisation. T-DOC is said to simplify processes, including traceability and registration tasks in sterile supply reprocessing and in the operating theatre. By identifying which instruments and trays to use first based on expiry date. In any T-DOC-enhanced hospital, patients can feel confident about production quality and adherence to infection control standards.

T-DOC helps keep the risk of hospitalacquired infections to a minimum, but also enables hospital staff to identify patients impacted by the unlikely event of a recall.

A consistent barrier system to avoid cross-contamination

Getinge’s designs are based on the barrier principle, and aim to ensure clear separation of contaminated, clean and sterile zones. The zones are divided by pass-through washerdisinfectors and sterilisers. The company’s experts tailor a solution that will fit to any needs and provide enhanced patient support - and increased staff safety.

Contaminated Zone - The first step in reprocessing

Cleaning is considered the most important step in instrument reprocessing. The purpose of cleaning is to remove visible soil, reduce biological matter and prepare the equipment for disinfection. Getinge offers a range of precleaning solutions, from sink units, ultrasonic cleaners, wash monitors and smart detergent dosing systems to ergonomic transportation trolleys. When combined, the pre-wash portfolio prepares items for the next zone of the process.

Clean Zone – The second step towards sterile In this area

Getinge offers a range of high grade, intelligent washer-disinfector solutions, designed to increase throughput and keep staff safe and productive. The clean and disinfected goods can be unloaded manually or by an automated system. Once sorted, inspected and packaged, the items are ready for the next step: sterilisation.

Sterile Zone – The final step to peace of mind

Within the sterilisation zone there is a broad selection of built-in pass-through sterilisers in suitable sizes and models, depending on the volume and type of goods. When it comes to sterilisation, Getinge has the appropriate solution for every application within the hospital, including sterilisers with steam, low-temperature processes and cycles for fluid production. Besides capital equipment, its sterilisation indicators are designed to ensure goods are sterile, with accurate and consistent results.

Low temperature sterilisation

Getinge offers low temperature sterilisation solutions in order to meet the requirement of sterilisation of the heat and moist sensitive medical instruments. The portfolio provides world-wide accepted and proven sterilisation technologies in order to meet the most demanding requirements of CSSDs; patient and user safety, high throughput, speed, and compatibility.

Take control of your flexible endoscopes

The growth of endoscopic procedures along with the continued development of complex flexible endoscopes created new requirements in terms of cleaning and disinfection. Getinge was a pioneer in bringing the passthrough concept to the market. Thanks to the “zerotolerance” of cross-contamination mindset, its line of AERs is designed for consistency, accuracy and cost-effective operation for enhanced patient safety.

Getinge ED-Flow – a true physical pass-through barrier

Getinge ED-Flow AER is equipped with two asynchronous chambers for smarter and faster processes. It is a true barrier system, meant to separate the dirty and the clean areas as a physical barrier. Interlocked doors ensure that only scopes that have run through a complete and approved cycle can be unloaded from the clean side. If an error during the process occurs, the AER will only open up on the dirty side. To ensure the highest efficacy and patient safety, the dedicated AER consumable containers can only be placed in one way – the right way.

Getinge EDS8 – quick drying prevents bacterial growth

Micro-organisms can quickly grow to dangerous levels within a few hours, so a fast drying and sealed storage solution is required to keep each endoscope safe for the next patient. Getinge EDS8 Drying and Storage Cabinet can dry and store up to eight disinfected flexible endoscopes for up to 60 days, free from contamination and available for immediate use.

Flexible commercial solutions for healthcare investments

Getinge’s flexible commercial solutions offer a way to unlock vital investment without putting further strain on capital budgets. The company will work as partners, enabling the cost to be spread over time, while minimising the risks associated with major projects. The latest solutions are provided – from CSSD suites to operating theatre equipment and instrument reprocessing – maintained to guaranteed availability throughout the life of the contract for a fixed cost. There is an ongoing clinical training programme for staff and the flexibility to change requirements at any time.

Getinge will maintain the equipment throughout the life of the contract and guarantee an agreed level of uptime, taking the risk that the equipment will perform as well on the last day of the contract as day one. This enables hospitals to focus on what they do best – looking after the patients.
