The new TruLight 5520, from TRUMPF incorporates “adaptive light control plus” which automatically adapts illumination as requirements change during a surgical procedure. All the surgeon

has to do is to set his or her ideal light intensity at the beginning of the operation. This is achievable due to the consistent light quality provided by the basic design of TruLight. The optimal combination of LED arrangement and orientation creates a homogenous light cylinder that is highly efficient at different depths of field. Innovative thermal management means the heat is dissipated effectively resulting in a noticeable increase in the durability and efficiency of the LEDs. With adaptive light control plus, even if the TruLight is moved during the operation, it maintains the intensity pre-set by the surgeon. The light cylinder is adapted for various working distances by the automatic, targeted electronic control of different LEDs. Programming of TruLight is via a touch panel integrated into the light head or wall control.
